Johnsie Beaver was a retired educator from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System. She believed that education was the foundation to achieving success and it provided an opportunity for marginalized students to overcome barriers that could prevent them from achieving their goals. Mrs. Beaver valued education and dedicated her life to educating students. She also valued her spiritual walk with God and her family. She believed students who also valued education, faith, and family were destined for greatness.

Eligibility to apply:

1. Must be a high school senior that has been accepted to an accredited four year college or university

2. Must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 (unweighted) or higher on 4.0 scale

3. Must demonstrate a financial need

 

 

How to Apply for the Johnsie Beaver Scholarship Fund

Each applicant successfully submit the following items by the scholarship deadline:

1. Fully completed scholarship application

2. Sealed official school transcript

3. 250 to 500 word essay

Essay topic “How education, family, and faith are important values in your life and how this scholarship will benefit your education”

 

Application Deadline: June 19, 2020 at 5:00 pm (post marked)
